Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk in PK 001 Dreamed Pink Flirt, PK 002 Pounding First Kiss and BE 101Chic Hollywood Bay

It always feels like Christmas comes early each time I see a box sitting on my desk. This time, I know for sure, the box contains my Dear My Wish Lips Talk.

I picked PK 001, PK 002 and BE 101. Packaging wise, it is almost similar with the older version of Dear My Lips Talk series (without the 'Wish').

Now, let’s start with the color… I do love how all three of  my choices comes out. PK 001 is light medium pink, bright and cheerful. PK 002 is colder, lighter berry shade… I am particularly loving this one… it allows me to wear berry without making me feel old about it. BE 101 is warm nude brown, very pretty too. PK 001 and BE 101 are two of the recommended color from Etude House. All colors I picked are cream with glossy finish.

The texture is super creamy and super pigmented. I started with PK 002, I was pleasantly surprised with the pigment this pretty bullets pack. On my lip swatch over here, I only applied on top of my lips (direct from bullet) then close my lips together to spread out and even out the color. On my hand swatches, they are single swipe direct from bullet. Swiping this lippie feels so nice… so smooth and the slip is just lovely…

Unlike lighter PK 001 and BE 101, PK 002 stains my arm a bit, even though I used cream make up remover only 1-2 minutes after making swatch. Like any creamy lipstick, it does transfer to my cup super easily too.. . but since the color is so pigmented, the transfer doesn’t affect the color intensity on my lips as much.

Etude House Dear My Wish Lips Talk PK 001

I find the lippie feels light and not drying at all on my lips. Lately my lips has been super dry and I almost always apply honey on my lips to moisturize it a bit. So…. Getting ‘not drying’ statement from me, I do think is a good thing…

Full luscious color lasts until mid-day, it is pretty much gone after I had my lunch, except light stain around my lips... I suspected this happened because my lips is super dry these days. Until the color is gone, I do think the lippie doesnt dry my lips at all... so, I am super happy about this...

BE101 is a pleasant surprise… the beige adds a bit of life on my pale lips. Like its sisters which I have tried, the color is pigmented and the slip during application is just nice. It is more forgiving than other creamy pale lipcolors I have tried, it doesn’t settle too much in my liplines. The half lip swatch was a single swipe. The full lip swatch was a double swipe.

I’ll update this post/created new post when I’m done trying PK 002 . Sooo excited! Let's hope the other two color packs as much pigment as this one!

Bottomline,
I am so happy with the slip, creaminess and pigmentation here. May be I will be purchasing new colors if Etude House launched new colors.
I do think this is Etude House's best lipstick formula so far. (Counting out the Color Pop gloss stain hybrid, since it is technically not a lipstick).

Etude House Summer 2014 Princess Happy Ending

Riding on the popularity of anything princess, one of my favorite Korean brand, Etude House has launched a princess themed collection too!

The Princess Happy Ending series is related to the Disney's famous princesses line-up, even though i dont see any likeness of Snow, Belle, Cinderela and Jasmine themselves in the make up packaging shots so far... *
It is divided to 4 themes: Snow White, Cinderella, Belle and Jasmine. Each offers different type set of make ups. I can't decide whether I love Jasmine or Belle more... What about you?

Update: I managed to purchase Belle's blush (review here) and Cinderella's eyeshadow.

*update: earlier I thought the collection is not related to Disney. But then I saw Disney(c) logo...

Etude House Minnie Touch Blusher, Minnie Touch Highlighter, Kissing Minnie Lips Lipstick in #02 Bubble Pink

I am on make up diet… i have way too much make up in my drawers, I need to stop buying them. But… how can I say no to Minnie Mouse… Etude House, I blame you!

Of the complete Minnie Mouse x Etude House collection from2013, I decided to grab the highlighter, blusher, lipstick, few nail polishes and the loose glitter for nails.

For packaging, picture is worth 1000 words… there goes…

Look at that cute Minnie shaped design! The pan is made of matte plastic, but it feels quite sturdy.

The highlighter contains 3 colors: light lavender, warm beige and pale pink pastel. All with lovely iridescent glow when applied. I cant seem to capture the subtle color difference between all three on my hand swatch, but trust me, the difference is there. It feels soft and lovely when applied, you don’t have to dig with your brush to get colors. When applied, it doesn’t make my face look oily, just add nice glow on my morning skin.

In similar fashion with the highlighter, the blusher has 3 colors: pink, peach and light lavender. The texture is similar with the highlighter… soft, don’t dig too much with your brush. This one is matte and very sheer. I am not going to use this as blush; this is more suitable as all over face color when my skin feels particularly pale and colorless. Doesn’t appear chalky when applied.

Now, the lippie in #02 Bubble Pink. Polkadot tube with matte finish… love! The color… even better…. Lovely creamy MLBB pink that’s creamy and easy to apply. No tugging, just nice slip. It gives me medium coverage, lasts for about 3 hours on me. After that, I got a nice stain left behind. Just like the highlighter and blush, it has no fragrance.

I’m not going to review the nail polish here… one one note: don’t expect coverage from the glitter as it is meant to be used as top coat, giving your nail splash of polkadots and Mickey faces. It is kinda hard to get the mickey faces, so when I used it, I ‘fish’ them with toothpick…

Bottomline…
Cute design aside, I am adoring the highlighter but don’t care about the blush, since the blush is so sheer. The lipstick is lovely, especially when I want to just perk up my lip color.

Etude House Dear My Color Pop Lips Talk in OR 214

Another poppy lipstick from Etude House Color POP pre summer2013! I guess they have so many collections they have to started adding ‘pre’ in front of the season….

Anyway… previously, I tried on Color POP Shine Tint here. I know I am not an orange person, the color just don’t love my skin, but when I saw the swatches in Etude’s website, I cant say no to OR 214.

Just like other Dear My lipsticks, the lippie is supposed to deliver vivid color and moist shine.
Ah the polkadot box… so cute! And I always adore their Dear My tube design. This time, the ribbon is poppy orange plastic, reminiscent of neon hues from the 80s!

Now, the color… OR 214 is creamy apricot with a hint of pink. This color works better on me than the Shiny Tint Sunny Pop I tried before. It actually makes my lips stand out and make my face more cheerful looking!

The formula is creamy creamy creamy… it is not as easy to apply, as I find that I have to spread the product evenly to make sure my liplines are properly and evenly covered. I don’t consider it as high shine lipstick. It is more of a satin finish lipstick.

As usual, no flavor, but there’s a hint of tangerine fragrance if I bury my nose to the bullet. The lippie itself is not drying, but… it has the bad habit of highlighting flaky lips. Do make sure you prep your lip properly before applying this! And… it tend to settle in my liplines… not pretty…

Bottomline…

Pretty poppy color with a hint of pink, making it more wearable. But the creaminess of the lipstick makes it require a little blending during application. It also has a bad habit of highlighting flaky lips and settling in liplines.

Lola Duo Lipstick in Strawberry / Cream

The allure of double duty products never fail to make me swipe my card… be it double function or simply two color housed in pretty little tube like this Duo Lipstick by Lola.

When I purchased this, I don’t know anything about Lola… except that the duo lippie was calling my name… and the packaging is plain cute black-red combo that just exudes fun loving, sexy attitude!

Lola is an American brand which is available in several countries in Asia. According to their website, the star products are eye primer, lippies and powder.

Now the product! I don’t think I have to describe the sexy tube of this lippie! Tiny red diamante simply adds attitude to the tube! Plus, the tube also houses a tiny mirror which automatically flips open when you open the lippie tube! I am loving this… no more digging for mirror before retouching! Fantastic design and idea… however… it lacks a little in the execution… the tube is made of light plastic that is lacking substantial feel… May be I am spoiled by my favorite Guerlain Rouge Automatiques, but I feel this tube is a little hard to twist… or may be mine was simply a bad tube…

Strawberry / Cream is a pretty duo of blue based pink with super subtle shimmer (which doesn’t show up when applied on lips) and pinkish cream nude that simply adds life to my pale lips. When mixed the resulting color is creamy fresh, natural looking pink. The nude is super suitable for the office and the pink is pretty for night out with friends too! truly duo product that’s useful!

Texture of the product is also lovely, super easy to apply and blend. Coverage and pigmentation is excellent! Not as creamy as YSL Rouge Voluptes, but creamy enough not to dry my lips. It feels light on my lips and the nude crème doesn’t settle on my liplines! Love!

Bottomline…
Pretty design + wonderful product and color is the combo for me… appreciate the compact mirror on the tube too! However, the packaging itself is not that easy to deal with.
