Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher in No 5

I love roses... and I was more than happy to pick up Skinfood's rose themed creamblush from Spring 2014.

The whole collection includes cream blushes, lip lacquer, ...

I picked up‎ soft baby pink colored No 5.

The packaging is compact and surprisingly includes a big mirror inside it! I love it, as it makes application on the go waaayyy easier!

The blush itself is lightly perfumed with lovely, soft tea rose fragrance. But the fragrance dissipate once applied.

The texture is soft and turns powder when applied. in the beginning I was expecting siliconey feel... but it doesn't feel like siliconey slick powder...it just melds into powder upon blending on skin.

The color... wow it is pigmented! I didn't expect this pigmentation from a baby pink blush! I am loving it, as it is easily blended and layered.

Bottomline,

Lemme go to ebay and pick that lovely coral shade!

Etude House Sweet Recipe Cupcake All Over Color in PK 002 Strawberry Chiffon Cake

This is really a long due review... This super cute, sweet concoction belongs to Etude House's 2013 release. The Sweet Recipe collection makes me drool... No kidding! They are all candy or cake themed with pink color scheme. Who can resist that?

The Sweet Recipe collection includes highlighters, eye shadows, blushes, various lipstick and base make up. Earlier i have tried and loved the jelly lip color from the collection also.
etude.co.kr

Previously, I tried the Jelly lips talk here. Today, I picked is a creme blush packed in adorable tin shaped like pink cupcake... Yums! Etude House promotes this to be used as lip color, blush and eye shadow too! It comes in 5 delectable colors... blueberry, strawberry, cherry, mandarin and peach... how lovely...

I obviously love the tin design. Even though I dont think I can maintain the tin in tip top sparkly condition ... Tin packaging's paint tend to peel off  as time goes by... And humidity means rust is always lurking around.

That aside... I totally love the color! PK 002 is a poppy colder pink which really enlivens my face without being too neon. It is sheer, easily blended and can be layered for more intense look.

The texture is different from the currently trending creamy moussey blush... It is harder in the tin, but can be easily softened up by placing your finger on top of the product to warm a patch up with your fingertip. It will be easier then to pick up the color.Considering the texture, I am not going to try this for lip color, I just have the feeling that it will be too drying for my lips. As for eyeshadow, I dont see myself wearing the color...But I will definitely try it if I picked up the peachy color later :D

Bottomline:
Super cute theme and packaging, as expected from Etude House. It gives me a Lovely pop of pink on my cheeks. Easy to use sans shimmer formula making it my current default choice when i feel the need to boost a blah day!

Fred Farrugia Midnight Kit, Pearlized Twinkle Eyeshadows in 03, 11& Transparent Crème Blush in 02

Yes… I went to a shopping spree recently… Guilty as charged…  But I couldn’t resist those twinkly colors and pretty little Midnight Kit set…

Fred Farrugia is a make up artist and, of course, the creator of the brand. His aim is to create products with textures that blends with skin for natural result. Most importantly these products should be able to follow the ladies wherever they go. That’s how Fred Farrugia magnetic system was founded!

Midnight Kit is a nifty little starter kit. It contains all you need to start your own Fred Farrugia pallete. Of course you can keep them in the plastic sleeves they came in when you bought each product, but I would be much more travel friendly if you own the top and bottom casing! You can create your own palette according to your needs!

Back to the lovely kit. It contains the top and bottom closures and also the sleeve in black. I find the sleeve particularly useful to make sure the palette wont get accidentally open in your luggage. The kit alos contains Pearlized Twinkle Eyeshadows in 15, Cream Lipstick/Lipgloss in 24 and Illuminating Powder in 01. That’s all you need to create a lovely night out look!

The lip colors would be flattering to any skintone. Both have color in the same family, hence can be used alone or layered up to add more glossiness. The lippie is more natural while the gloss is more pinky – both are tea rose colored. Eyeshadows in 15 is classic combo of sparkly pearly white shadows and equally sparkly black-grey shadow. The texture is not as smooth and buttery as Japanese brands, but they truly excels in pigmentation. Last but not least is the Illuminating powder in 01… it has lovely smooth texture. The color is warm ivory with super subtle shimmer. I do think this will also flatter any skin tone. I love to use it as brow bone highlighter too.

Of course, monochrome eyeshadows wont do it for me… That’s how I end up with additional palette in 03 and 11. 03 consists of bright teal blue shadow and popping pink-magenta shadow. 11 is more subtle pale cool pastel plum and complimentary deep plum. Both palette has good pigmentation and similar texture with the one included in Midnight Kit.

And… I cant resist Transparent Crème Blush in 02. It is, well, transparent and blendable crème blush with matte finish. No shimmer here. The color is lovely almost neon Barbie pink, but when blended properly it gives me pretty, feminine pink cheeks.

I do recommend putting your crème products on top of the palette and the sparkly shadows below. Just to avoid the possibility of powders getting stuck on the crème product when you use your brushes to pick them up.

Bottomline,
I am loving Fred Farrugia’s customizable palette system…very travel friendly. The eyeshadows are of good quality and blushes are pretty too. Pricing point is slightly at the expensive side, but if you travel a lot, this might be your life (or cosmetic) safer.

Stila Merry & Bright Collectible Holiday Palette

Nude shadows was never my thing... I want my shadows colorful and bright! But recently, I realize how handy it is to have nudes eye shadows in hand. It can never go wrong with nudes to highlight and emphasize crease!

That's why when I saw Stila Merry & Bright I jumped to purchase it. The set contains (of course) the eye shadow and make up palette plus lipglaze in kitten.

The palette is smaller than standard Stila travelling girl palette, but it contains more shadow variety! Super wearable nudes and neutrals in shimmery and matte finish. Plus a convertible lip and cheek cream. As usual, the palette also features handy mirror and simple face chart.

Strangely enough, I am most happy with the convertible color! I find it super handy to use. It gives my cheek that natural pinky flush.

The eye shadows on the other hand... Was a little meh. I love glisten and joyful the most, ebony and butterscotch the least. I find the two mattes too powdery for my taste. And I prefer my black, very black...

Bottomline,
Handy palette for travelling and touch ups. But for the price I don't think it is very worth it for me, as I can foresee myself using only the convertible, glisten and joyful. May be, molasses once in a while. But this palette can be a real gem for nude n neutrals starters who want variety of finishes in a single palette.

Lavshuca Girly Whip Cheek in PK-1

I was super duper excited every time creamy/liquid cheek product arrives in my doorstep. This baby from Lavshuca is not an exception. Whip Cheek comes in options of pinks, orange and red. This baby was launched in together with Lavshuca’s Double Color Lipstick.

The packaging really looks like lipgloss don’t you think? Even the sponge tip applicator reminds me of Revlon’s Colorburst gloss. Similarities to gloss aside, the material used here is good. The plastic tube is clear and feels sturdy despite being plastic. What I don’t fancy as much is the detailing on the mouth of the tube… the printing is tad rough… gives the cheap look.

The product promises natural looking flushed cheeks. The creamy-mousse transforms to powder upon application.

PK-1 is classic baby pink which I think, most Japanese cosmetic offers. While the color is not unique at all, I do love the lipgloss tube idea.

The sponge tipped applicator carries enough product each time. You just have to apply and blend. Blending was a breeze and the color buildable. It does immediately turns into powdery consistency upon application. However, I do think it feels a little silicone-y. for me personally, it doesn’t matter as much.

Bottomline,
I adore the practical applicator, makes it super travel friendly. I do wish they come up with more pigmented color variations. Repurchase? Most probably ;)

Kose Visee Mineral Liquid Cheeks Baby Finish in RD 401 and PK 800

I have been waiting for this product for ages to appear in my favorite e-retailers…but I didn’t see any sign of it appearing… when my bestie, the wonderful Astrid happen to visit Japan. She grabbed me RD 401 and PK 800! Thanks a lot, angel!

Now the product… it is a recent spring 2012 launch which is part of the mineral series. Previously they also offered blusher in compact powder form. I have to say, the compact powder blusher is hit and miss. Sometime they give you wonderful color payoff, sometimes not.

Not so for this baby! This light thin cream packs a lot of pigment. A little goes loooonng way… see here, I blended out a little of the product, and you can still see how pigmented it is.

The light cream texture is lovely. Easy to spread and blend. But once it sets (after 30 seconds-1 minutes) it wont budge. After swatching this product, I went off and did some cleaning and washing chores. To my surprise, the pigment was still there until I wash it off properly with soap and water.
I am so super loving this product… even though each tiny tube only pack 10gr of the product… considering the pigmentation, these can lasts me long time.
Bottomline…
Instant love…

Maybelline blushstudio Jelly Glow in 02 Fresh Pink

Can't deny it, my latest addition is blushes... I find myself purchasing different textured blushes lately...including this fun, pretty, cute jelly glow blush from maybelline.

It is housed in domed plastic palette, which reminds me of baked blushes. but the texture of this baby is not hard as the baked cousin.... it is springy and soft and totally fun to use!

pigmentation wise, Jelly Glow is rather sheer rosy pink- no matte no frosty no pearly here. just healthy pink glow. Building up color is easy peasy with this one.

Honestly, I have no complaint here... reasonably priced, fun product.

Heavy Rotation Creamy Cheeks in 02 Cutie Pink

Heavy rotation is drugstore make up brand from japanese beauty manufacturer Isehan. I havent tried any other heavy rotation product before, so I don't expect much from this purchase. I am just interested in the pretty pink rosy color on the packaging.

All I know about heavy rotation is their simplistic black packaging and neutral wearable colors. Creamy cheeks is available in 3 colors, Baby pink, cutie pink and peach pink.

heavy rotation recommends applying teeny weeny 3 mm sized dot on each cheek and blend. I can't agree more. I find blending then building up color when necessary is easier than trying to make colors appear lighter when you applied too much.

Clown cheeks alert here... 02 cutie pink is bright blue pink in the tube and blends to make healthy pinky rose flush on my cheeks. I find it not oily and easy to blend, once dried, the color fixed easily too. It gives really pretty natural finish, not matte. Not shimmery...just natural.

Bottomline,
Great pigmentation, easy to use and gives pretty, natural finish. I am totally eying on the other color!

Canmake Cream Cheek in Cherry Pink 02 and Marshmallow Pink 08

I love cream cheek formula so much, I got myself not one, but two other colors! Previously I got myself sweet apricot colored blush (swatch here)This Japanese brand offers so many pretty colors...
The packaging is light clear plastic. Pretty cute if you ask me.

Now the colors... Cherry Pink 02 is sheer buildable pink with golden shimmer. The shimmer might be too much for those who prefer subtle shimmer. I can imagine younger girls would adore the shimmer more than those who plan to sport this to the office. The left is unblended, right side is blended.
Here is Marshmalow Pink 08... Cute baby pink with very subtle golden shimmer. Subtler than Cherry Pink when it comes to shimmer. Left swatch was unblended, right side was blended. Now this color... would be subtle enough for office.
The formula is consistent across all colors for Cream Cheek. All are cream-gel which turns to powder upon application. I personally love the formula and texture very much. Very comfortable to wear, doesn’t make my cheek oily.

In summary...
Packaging: cute but simple, light clear plastic
Color variations: 4/5
Price: SGD 19.9
Texture: cream-gel turning powdery upon blending
Staying power: color still vibrant on my cheek by the end of the day 
Is it worth it?
Yes if... you like light cream blush, you like healthy dose of shimmer in your blush
No if... you don’t like dipping your fingers in the pot, you dislike cream blushes
