Skinfood Rose Essence Soft Cream Blusher in No 5

I love roses... and I was more than happy to pick up Skinfood's rose themed creamblush from Spring 2014.

The whole collection includes cream blushes, lip lacquer, ...

I picked up‎ soft baby pink colored No 5.

The packaging is compact and surprisingly includes a big mirror inside it! I love it, as it makes application on the go waaayyy easier!

The blush itself is lightly perfumed with lovely, soft tea rose fragrance. But the fragrance dissipate once applied.

The texture is soft and turns powder when applied. in the beginning I was expecting siliconey feel... but it doesn't feel like siliconey slick powder...it just melds into powder upon blending on skin.

The color... wow it is pigmented! I didn't expect this pigmentation from a baby pink blush! I am loving it, as it is easily blended and layered.

Bottomline,

Lemme go to ebay and pick that lovely coral shade!

Skinfood Kiwi Yoghurt Wash Off Mask

Skinfood of Korea always has this yummy sounding, prettily packaged stuff... like this one... Kiwi Yoghurt. How can I miss that?

The product is supposed to contain...well, Kiwi Yoghurt, of course! all to balance pH, tighten pores and brighten skin. sounds good...

The texture is just like thick milky gel with green beads suspended. I usually applied it on my face and massaged it in a little bit, then just watch those re runs or grab a DVD. heck, sometimes I do laundry in between too!

after washing the mask off, my skin does feel more fresh and supple. brighter... not so much... tighter pores...definitely didnt see that.

Bottomline,
It's an okay mask. not a must. I will wear it when it is there, but wont specifically repurchase.

Skinfood Red Orange Jelly BB SPF 20 PA++

This one is part of skin food's red orange series. I just can't stop adoring hr orange-rose gold design of this series.

This essentially a jelly pudding textured bb cream. The texture really remind me of soft chocolate mousse dessert. Yum! And I just love the fact that it sits in a frosted glass jar. The bb jelly promises moisturizing benefits.

Now, one thing that really disappoints me is the fact that it doesn't come with it's own spatula or something I can use to pick up the jelly with. I just don't like the idea of dipping my fingers into a jar of foundation.

My disappointment aside, I actually love this product! It is light and blends nicely and smoothly. I just love to play with the texture.it gives me light medium coverage, just the way I like my bb cream to be. However, it is not as moisturizing as I expected moisturizing products to be. Yet, I enjoyed it...since it gives me fresh yet matte skin.not only looking fresh, but also feeling fresh! I need to blot only after 3 -4 hours.

Sensitive skin, please beware, as this product is scented with fresh orange fragrance. The scent disappears after blending thou.

Bottomline,
This is really something I am going to wear daily. The texture is fun, the finish is matte and fresh. I am soooo going to repurchase. Unfortunately it only comes in 2 shades...just like most other Korean brands. So, deeper skin toned beauties won't be able to enjoy this as much as I do...what a pity

Skinfood Red Orange Sun Pact SPF 50+ PA +++

For some reason, I just adore SkinFood’s red orange series. The combination of orange and rose-gold colored packaging is just appealing! Plus… it has SPF of 50 and PA+++. Good for me! Red orange series feature regular powder compact, facial spray and gel textured BB cream (which I also purchased, but haven’t tried).

I adore the outer design, and also the inner design! The compact features large mirror and puff anddd…. A plastic layer (not that flimsy film, but window-like clear hard plastic) to separate the puff and the powder. Ahh… hygiene comes first when it goes to powders! I love love love this design!

Skinfood says this clear pact (means compact powder, really) will give me bright and lively skin, plus it has sebum absorbing property. Okay… this powder is not really clear- I have to blend properly if I don’t want to look ashy and powdery. So, absolutely not for deeper toned beauties! And dry, flaky skin patch, beware! This will accentuate those pesky flaky, dry patches! It has ultra light orange scent-nothing too strong. I can only detect the scent if I sniff the powder compact very closely.
I used this as touch-up powder in the middle of the day, and need to blot and re-apply after appox 2hours. i say this compact doesnt give oil control as much as i wanted it to.

bottomline...
i dont like this as much-excecpt for the genius compact design. the powder is too bright at times, and  it doesnt control oily skin as much. this, might be treasure for very fair ladies with normal skin.

SkinFood – Good Afternoon Peach Green Tea BB cream SPF20 PA+ in #2

I love tea and I love mattifying, oil controlling creams and powders! This one has both! Perfect!
Skinfood is Korean brand I adore for its natural-themed products & packaging. This BB cream is one of their extensive Good Afternoon series: Berry Berry for skin revitalizing, Apple cinnamon for brightening, rose lemon for hydration, peach green tea for mattifying and oil controlling and honey black tea for moisturizing and glow.

Each type of cream comes in two shades: 1 Light beige and 2 Natural Beige. As you can see in my swatch, even the natural beige is pretty light. I don’t think this will suit darker skin toned ladies. Coverage is medium, the creamy BB blends nicely on my skin. I usually use my bb cream as foundation-after moisturizer and before make up.
It has slight fruity-apricot scent. Very light, it pretty much disappears after application.  My skin does look wonderfully fresh and matte after application- the coverage is medium-light on me. It stays fresh and i only need to blot my T zone after 3- 4 hours, that's slighty less frequent than my usual blotting.

bottomline...
Wonderful addition to my BB cream collection, I do think this purchase is money well spent. it might not be suitable for those with dry skin and surely wont be suitable for those with deeper skin tone.

Skinfood Vita Tok lipstick in PK01 Dorothy Berry

Skinfood products always appeal me for their natural-vintage style packaging. Skinfood is Korean brand claiming to use good stuff as ingredient which will be good ‘food’ for your skin–hence the name: skinfood!
This time Skinfood brings you Vita Tok lipstick, which promises to bring you watercolor like lippies- vibrant colors and shine for kissable lips! Sounds good to me… this range comes rather wide variety of colors from deeper reds, magentas, pinks to beiges.

Packaging wise- this is not very skinfood. They uses clear plastic as caps of the lippies. the tube is sealed with clear plastic packaging which you need to rip open to use the lipstick. On the plastic packaging-they slap on Vita Tok sticker. Even though it is made of plastic, it doesn’t feel too flimsy or cheap.

On to the color – Doroty Berry is bright pink-magenta, color which appeals to me more and more lately. The lippie itself is buildable- sheer tint like if you swipe lightly or bright magenta if swiped more. I like the color.
Unfortunately, I don’t think it lives to the ‘kissable’ promise! This one transfers very easily to rim of my tea cup- don’t think it will not transfer to your loved ones cheeks…  it is not  as shiny/glossy as I would like the lippie to be as well. The nice thing is-it glides easily on my lips.
It lasts about 2-3 hours on me. After about 2-3 hours it leaves my lips nicely stained with magenta.
In summary…
Rather nice to have, if you can get this as near as the retail price in Korea. But more expensive than Revlon’s colorburst lippie range- I’d rather go for colorburst.
