The Bakery by Beauty Buffet Gaufres Eyeshadow 4 in 1 No. 03 Kiwi Gold

The Bakery is a sub-brand by Beauty Buffet. Beauty Buffet is an interesting one, a Thai concept of having all-you-can-eat buffet, but for beauty product. Their shops are reminiscent of romantic farmer’s market with food themed products. Let’s say it is a sweeter, more neighborly version of Korea’s The Skin Food.

Beauty Buffet sells pretty much everything! From make up, hair care, brushes until more specific body care such as waxes! Their in house brands include pro-ish line Gino McGray ( I picked up a brush cleanser here), Scentio body product, Lansley body product  and The Bakery. The bakery is more targeted towards young audiences.

More good news… they are easily found in shopping malls in Bangkok! Yums!

Now, they eye shadows… Gaufres Eyeshadow claim to be not tested on animals…. Score one for me! The shadow is housed in magnetic cardboard box and comes with sponge tipped applicator. Of course, the packaging design in cute… that’s why I got one for myself! And with name like Gaufres – or Waffles … I cant say no..

Kiwi gold is lovely warm combination of shimmering colors: golden ivory, young grass shoot green, light golden mandarin and lovely bronzey brown. Very versatile… be it for the neutral lovers or those preferring colorful make up. Pigmentation is average for golden ivory and bronze brown, the green and mandarin swatched more pigmented. The texture is lovely, soft and easy to blend.

At the price point (THB 250, approximately 8 USD) this is not a guilty pleasure purchase… okay… guilty pleasure for me, as I have eye shadows worth three lifetimes… but… it is a zero calorie guilty pleasure!

Bottomline,
Fun, zero calorie, colorful snack for make up lovers. Good quality with good price.

Oriental Princess Cuticle Hair Treatment Leave On Serum for Damaged Hair

This week is going to be Oriental Princess week... I hauled quite a lot of products from this Thai brand during my recent Bangkok Trip. With its pocket friendly price point, I don’t think much when I stuff more and more bottles of potions and lotions plus paints in my shopping cart.

I have to say, currently I am loving the brand... they offer various lines and most importantly... they have specific product for split ends and fluffy hair! This serum promises deep nourishment and easily managed hair. It contains jojoba seed oil and sunflower seed oil too.

This time I am trying the serum. Far from my regular liquid pump bottle serum, Oriental Princess’ serum is more cream in a tub than liquid.

The cream is actually quite thick and glossy, yet easily absorbed when applied on either dry or towel dried hair – Oriental Princess recommends applying on damp towel dried hair. The cream has light aquatic-marine fragrance which dissipates when applied. My hair feels soft after the application. Not surprising, since the product contains silicone based ingredients.

It doesn’t weigh my hair at all too. but I didn’t feel my hair getting more moisture after applying it... just additional softness- which I also highly appreciate...

Bottomline,
If it were more moisturizing, I will repurchase. But this might be just the right product for normal hair.

Oriental Princess Reflection Camaru Blue Eye Color

Like most make up brand nowadays, Oriental Princess also releases limited edition collection. When I bought this (2012), the current limited edition collection was called Reflection. Reflection offers various eye color duos and lipstick. I grabbed Camaru Blue, as I was intrigued by the blue and orange combination.

For a budget friendly brand, the packaging of this collection is impressive. The box is sturdy and the matte palette has substantial feel when held. The palette also offers generously sized mirror inside.

Look at that pretty swirl of blue and orange on the left side of the palette! I cant wait to swatch it... the color combo turn out to be sparkly sheer bluish forest green. The blue come up more pigmented than the orange swirl- it is almost metallic cobalt blue with healthy dose of shimmer. Honestly, I don’t think the two color complement each other... the green is more warm, the blue is more cold. The green, however, is a unique color. I don’t think I have anything like it in my stash.

The palette is solid – just like baked shadow formula. But I don’t see the company labelling it as baked. It can be used dry (like my swatch here) or wet. When applied wet, the colors appeared more intense. The palette is made in Italy.

Bottomline,
A little mismatched color for my taste, but I am loving the shimmer.  I don’t think I will add more colors from the collection as I don’t really fancy the sheer quality of this shadows when applied dry.

Oriental Princess Aqua Fantasy Sea Fairy’s Touch Perfumed Talc

I don’t apply talc often enough to justify this purchase... but when a mermaid told me that i need to purchase this, I obliged. Blame the packaging for this purchase! Ha!

Oriental Princess is a Thai brand easily found on shopping malls in Thailand. The offers wide range of beauty products with wallet friendly prices!

This bottle of talc is said to contain nutrients from glacier water, cornflower and seaweed – to make your skin feel smooth and dry in humid, sweltering tropics.

To my surprise, this talc is baby blue in color! no worries, the color doesn’t appear once applied on skin. The talc is silky soft and gives the refreshing, tingly menthol cooling effect. The fragrance is soft yet refreshing- fresh aquatic with a hint of soft florals.  The fragrance is soft enough that it doesn’t compete with my perfume.

I enjoyed applying this mid day, just to refresh my skin amid humid air.

Bottomline,
If this baby were readily available, I am definitely going to re purchase. The minty coolness when applied and silky soft texture makes it a pleasure to use.

Oriental Princess Beneficial Kiss From A Rose Natural Face Tint in 07 Cherry Blossom

Have to admit, this stain has the most complicated name ... And of course, I just have to try stain from a brand I have just discovered!

Oriental Princess offers variety of beauty products in wallet friendly prices. The brand is Thai and can easily be found in shopping malls in Thailand.

The bottle and applicator is very similar to Benefit’s. My box contains a small sponge applicator to make blending easier. Looking at the size of the sponge, I am sure it will be destroyed before I even reach half of the stain bottle.

This stain is meant to be used for the cheek and lips. It contains chamomile and green tea extracts to liven up your skin while protecting against environmental pollution.

Cherry blossom is translucent red with a hint of coral. Be sure to shake your bottle well, since it does contain a little shimmer. The shimmer, however, doesn’t show up once the stain is blended on to your cheeks.

Little goes a long way here... the stain is pigmented. Start with a little dot on your cheek then quickly blend. Add more products when needed. I find this more pigmented than my regular The Body Shop stain or Benefit’s.  this means you need to work faster and blend quicker to avoid the clown cheeks.

Bottomline,
Pigmented stain for the cheek and lips. Oriental Princess also offers varieties of color- ranging from cutesy rosy pink to healthy flush warm red. I recommend you to check this brand out when you visit Thailand.

Oriental Princess Beneficial Magic Eye Colours in 05 Mist

Look at that pretty butterflies! Aren’t they pretty, nesting on top of the eye shadow palette?

This time I am trying Oriental Princess’ mono eye shadows, which is also in baked formula. Made in Italy, the container offers 2gr of product ...plus a big mirror inside the pan! The packaging somehow reminds me of Bourjois’ famous blushes.

Oriental Princess is a Thai brand which offers variety of beauty products. From skin care, perfumes, hair product to ... of course, make up!

05 Mist is cool magenta pink with iridescent sparkle. When applied, the sparkle is not so obvious that you look like a disco ball. Looking at that pretty magenta pink, I am so tempted to try it as a blush... guess what, when applied lightly, it does make a good rosy blush. Looking at the result, most likely I will use this baby as blush than eye shadow.

Bottomline,
Nicely pigmented eye shadow with the little-est hint of sparkle. I am using it mostly as a blush – it gives me fresh pinky cheeks. If The product is more readily available, I will definitely purchase more.

Oriental Princess Concentrated Cuticle Hair Treatment for Fluffy Hair

For fluffy hair... that’s a product made for me! Woots!

This baby was part of my haul from a Thai brand, Oriental Princess. Easily found in Thai malls, they are affordable yet offers plethora of products.

The serum contains vitamin E acetate and jojoba oil to strengthen and moisturize. It also promises to strengthen my hair and to give more body – not that my thick hair need extra body, but, I do need stronger hair.

The serum is thick and glossy, easily absorbed and non sticky. It has no fragrance. I can strongly feel the presence of silicone ingredients here – as it feels that signature silicone slipperiness. My hair becomse softer and more shiny after application. Just like other silicone based products, this doesn’t add moisture on my hair at all, just softness.

Bottomline,
I love moisturizing products, this is lovely, but not moisturizing enough for me. I’m not going to repurchase this one... even though I do think it will make great product for those looking for softness and shine alone.

Oriental Princess – Body Cologne Cream in Story of Happiness Oriental White Flower

I totally feel intrigued with the name of this product... “Body Cologne Cream”... is it a light refreshing cream? Is it cologne in cream form?

Oriental Princess is a Thai brand, easily found in shopping malls. Usually their products are sold in concept boutiques. Oriental Princess covers pretty much all your beauty need... from cutesy hand creams, various hair care and stying products, make up, perfumes... you name it, they got it. not to mention that the products are pocket friendly!

(picture from orientalprincesssociety.com)

I am loving the packaging. Look at the pretty box and frosted glass tub... this is the perfect gift for a friend! Sure it is not travel-friendly, but I’m sure it looks pretty on top of the vanity table.

The “Story of Happiness” series belongs to their perfumery line. Beside this Cologne Cream, the line also offers hair cologne and body cologne. The cologne cream promises velvety, well moisture skin with long lasting fresh yet soft fragrance.

The cream is thick and rich. It glides nicely on my skin, unfortunately, it doesn’t get absorbed that easily. I feel like the cream is sitting on top of my skin. Even though the cream is thick, it doesnt feel  super moisturizing. It just make my skin feel comfortable, but it doesnt improve dryness.

The fragrance itself is not as white-flowery as I expected. It was more like floral-rose infused baby powder.

Bottomline,
Pretty addition to my cream collection, but not moisturizing enough for my dry skin.

Lemongrass House Rose Absolute Shampoo and Rose Absolute Conditioner

Just cant say no when I see the word ‘Rose’ ...
Previously I got Dog Coat Oil from Lemongrass House. This Thai brand has quite a lot of stuff in the shop... Soaps, Oils, Pet stuff and this shampoo and conditioner!

It smells nice. Of roses, green-ish roses, not the fruity or too powdery rose.

I know I was looking for trouble when I got this one. It is for normal hair, while my hair is super dry. SO.. it was hardly surprising when I find it the shampoo too drying for my hair. However, it leaves soft fragrance on my hair when wet. The fragrance seems to go away not so long after hair is dry.

The conditioner is not very moisturizing for my ultra dry hair. But it might be just perfect for normal hair. The fragrance is the same with the shampoo, roses – fresh and lovely. The fragrance lingers when my hair was wet. Lingers slightly longer compared to the shampoo only.

I, personally, still enjoy using this shampoo once in a while – when I wanted squeaky clean hair. I use the conditioner more than the shampoo. Used it as light conditioner when I don’t need to shampoo my hair, when simple rinsing with water is enough.

Again, the fragrance is wonderful. Those with normal hair, do give it a try!

Lemongrass House Lemongrass Dogs Dog Coat Oil

Lookie lookie what I found today... tadaaaa....
Lemongrass House is a Thai brand producing ‘fresh handmade spa products’ for dogs, and of course, humans too! After some consultation with Uncle Google, I found out that the brand starts from Phuket and it is pretty famous. Even mentioned in the Time magazine! *how can I missed this one?!?!*

The bottle says:
‘This exceptional coat oil was developed specifically to give maximum conditioning and protection to the coat. Rich in Jojoba and apricot oils, and essential Vitamin E, dog coat oil prevents matting, tangling and helps repair overworked hair, while moisturized the skin. It contains no alcohol or silicone, and will not affect coat’s natural color. It is anti-static and has ligjt fresh scent’

Okay, some background story: recently my Vet told me that my cute Puppy has dry skin and fur (sounds familiar here...). So, Vet recommended me not to bathe Puppy too often. So... that was why, when I was lured by fresh lemongrass fragrance wafting in the mall, I entered the Lemongrass house shop and saw this, I bought it immediately.

You are supposed to pour the product on your palm then work thru your dog’s dry coat then brush the coat.

First of all, it smells lovely! Smell of fresh lemongrass of course. The oil is light and easily absorbed by my human skin. I secretly want this for myself.... I know... I know... shame on me....

The bottle says the ingredients are: Aloe Vera, Jojoba Oil, Apricot Kernel Oil, Shea Butter, Cocoa Butter, Lemongrass essential oils & Vitamin E

See...good enough for humans too!

As for myself, I bought their Rose Absolute Shampoo and Conditioner. But that’s for another time.
