YSL Volupte Tint-In-Oil in 5 Cherry My Chérie

I have always loved YSL lip product… my latest crush was their glossy tint. When I saw in the website that they are releasing this last year, I cant wait to try one myself. To my delight, the wait is over. Finally I got my own Tint in Oil.

So, the idea of tint in oil is to enhance your natural lip color with balmy comfort. YSL claims to be the first tint-in-oil tiny tint particles dissolved homogenously in oil. Plus, it features their ‘bouche a bouche’ 3D applicator. Let’s see if this combination makes my ultra dry lips happy…

The packaging is classic YSL with silver color and colored metallic neck to indicate the color inside. The tube is made of plastic, but the cap is metal. It, however, still feels substantial to hold.

The tint-in-oil looks plain in the beginning, just clear gloss with cool pink tinge. The color, however, develops as time goes by. The swatch on the left was made 5-8 minutes earlier than the freshly made swatch on the right. You can see color developing… when I wiped off the gloss, there is pink stain left behind (little less intense color compared to the swatch you see in the picture).

Okay, honestly, these pictures dont do this lovely product ANY justice... trust me, the color is more pronounced than the faint pale hint of color you see in these pictures... Trying to capture this color better, below is picture of color transfer to the tissue that I used to wipe my hand swatch. See that pretty poppy pink...

The product itself feels like a very comfortable thin gloss with lots of slip, but it doesn’t feel like applying oil on my lips! It has light YSL-signature fruity scent, which dissipates over time. The fragrance is not as strong as other YSL product I must say. It turns to the beautiful, sheer, natural looking, cheerful cool pink. I am … in loooovvveeeee….

The curved applicator certainly makes my life easier… drawing lines is breezy with this baby. Plus, it grabs just enough amount of product at one go, no need to re-dip the wand to the tube!

The tint and gloss doesn’t migrate to my liplines! And this makes me very happy. I cant believe how minimal the color transfer is to my cup rim… almost none!

Bottomline,

You want hydrating, sheer gloss to give you my lips but better cheerful colors? This is for you. Meanwhile for me, I am logging off to grab more colors and stockpile this pretty baby….

Peripera Magic Glam Lip Tint in Disney Frozen 1 Let It Go

Ah… I haven’t been so giddy and excited waiting for my precious box of make up shipment from Korea for the longest time… until Frozen collection from Peripera, a Korean brand. Not only Elsa got the make up treatment, Olaf and Anna got their own make up too! From foundation, eye liner to eyeshadow (reviewed here) !

From the lips department I have chosen Elsa’s color in 1 Let It Go. Anna also has her own color called 2 I’m Happy, Kristoff.

(clubclio.co.kr)

I wont talk much about the packaging… since, obviously it is super cute with Elsa on the box and the tube itself.

One unfortunate thing is that the tube itself is not transparent. I prefer transparent tube, as then, I would know how much product I have left.

The applicator is super user friendly, with pointed tip to apply the lipcolor more precisely. The color itself is bright cool pink, with medium pigmentation. Each dip manages to pick up just nice amount of product to cover the lips lightly.

Here, on my lip swatch I applied single layer of the liptint. As you can see, it is rather sheer, but buildable to more opaque finish when you want it. This one has glossy finish and feels light on the lips, kinda hydrating too!

Boy, the tint really does its job properly! It stained quickly. The arm swatch on the right was taken about 1 minute after I applied the liptint on my skin. As you can see… it does stain!

Not only that, the single swipe I applied in the morning lasted thru the day! my lips was still beautifully stained until dinner. Well, of course the gloss has worn off by the time I had my second cup of tea, but the color only faded lightly. After my dinner though, it was mostly faded. Nonetheless, count me very happy with the longevity.

Bottomline,

I am loving Elsa, I am loving her color. The light yet hydrating texture is a win. The gloss and long lasting staining property is spot on too. Love! Good job, Peripera.

Innisfree Summer 2013 Launch

Innisfree is one of those nature inspired Korean brand. But true to their Korean roots, Innisfree still has the cute vibe as compared with western brands.

I haven’t paid Innisfree much attention, until I see the cute cockatoo illustration in their eye pencils…

The chubby pencils promises creamy texture and …look at those color choices! Tempting indeed!

Along with the chubby eye shadow pencil, Innisfree also launched pencil shaped Gel Liner. Innisfree recommended lighter colors for under eye and the poppy ones for upper lid.

Not enough with pencil liners, they also introduced Waterproof Color Pop Liner. Looks like my favorite MAC line.... I shall give them a try!

Still in pencil format, there’s the all popular chubby Juicy Gloss Pencils… Some of them are color changing! Gimmicky yet I am loving it…

These lippies also caught my attention. Innisfree offers multitasking creamy lippies.

Gotta admit, the color selection of this lippies is diverse and not as 'tame' as most Asian brands... Thumbs up for you, Innisfree!

There’s tutorial to create the lip looks and how to make it for your very own cream blush!

There’s also 98% natural balm. Interesting that they put 98%... Only in 2 colors...

Neon colors are on the rage in korea… a collection is incomplete with out one! Innisfree Neon Colors in 4 poppy colours! They are multitasking as blush too!

Everyone is having their own Tint gloss now… including Innisfree!

Little creamy shadow with cute cockatoo…. Come to me...

Etude House Sweet Recipe Dear My Jelly Lips Talk in JPK002

Another ultra cute launch from Etude! This time, it is gourmand inspired! Creamy looking bases, delectable crème blushes, sweet as sugar eye shadows, gelato nail polishes, candy cane lip balms and… jelly lipsticks!

This babies looks just like Dear My lipstick series Etude House launched sometime last year (if I am not mistaken). But, instead of the feminine pink bow, this time the lippie has clear beads which looks like jelly beans as its belt. How cute!

The Lastest from Dear My Lipstick Series.... Pink Talk
etude.co.kr

Jelly Lips Talk has 8 colors to offer, all sheer, ranging to clear glossy to Etude’s regular line up of pinks and oranges. I picked up JPK002 Syrupy Strawberry Candy.
etude.co.kr

JPK002 is sheer cool pink, it certainly delivers gloss like no other Etude’s lipsticks I have tried. The color is sheer yet still shows nicely on my lips. It smoothly applies, no drag at all. It is rather moisturizing and feels very light. Totally reminds me of YSL’s Volupte Sheer Candy!

As it is slippery and moisturizing, naturally it doesn’t stay long. Light snacking and tea sipping will reduce its glossiness and pigmentation a lot. So, frequent application is necessary. It does leave light tint on my lips, but not something noticeable.

Pigmentation is perfect; it adds just the right amount of color to my lips. Very office friendly and spring summer appropriate! However, beauties with more pigmented lips might not benefit much from this. Ahh... apologies for the patchy lights on my lip swatches... at least on the first picture you can see the amount of pigment we get from this lippie...

Jelly lips talk has sweet scent but no discernable taste.  However, I find this scent rather off putting… it smells like artificial sweet fruit. No likey… I am going to un-cap it, to make the scent goes away faster. But, once applied, this scent doesn’t really bother me.

Bottomline,
Cute, sheer lip color with a punch of gloss. Perfect for office, spring and summer!

Illamasqua Lip Twin Set in Obey & Plentiful

With the entire cult following stuff, I am very curious about Illamasqua’s products. The brand started as cult British make up line famous for brave colors and crazy pigmented products.

As a novice to the brand, I decided to try more subtle colors first… so I picked up their lip twin set which contains Intense Lipgloss in Plentiful and Matte Lipstick in Obey.

Nothing fancy in the packaging here… plastic lipgloss tube and simple-but-cool square lippie tube with curved sides. I do love the simplicity and the cool factor of the lipstick tube.

Now the product… I was expecting Plentiful to be one of those milky gloss which settles on my lips. But I was wrong… it somehow manage to stay nice while showing off its pretty color when worn. Plentiful itself is a borderline neon milky pastel peach. Worn alone, it doesn’t show super neon color, but subtle yet noticeable milky peach. The color stays on me for about 3 hours before starting to fade (I sip my tea a lot). It didn’t just disappear, but leaving soft peachy tint by the end of 3 hours. You can easily wipe off the peachy tint with plain tissue if you want to. I didn’t taste anything, but it is lightly fragranced. What can I say… I am loving this color right now…

Obey on the other hand is more difficult to pull off. Mainly because of its matte formula. My lips are naturally dry, and applying lipbalm underneath doesn’t help. In an hour or so, I can see my lips feeling drier.

Obey matches perfectly with Plentiful, hence most of the time, I wear them in layer. Layering gives me pop of color with healthy gloss thrown in. perfect! For colors which are beyond my comfort zone (the neon-ish factor), the duo is surprisingly wearable and lovable for my skin.

Bottomline,
I totally would buy more colors from the lipgloss range. But for the matte lipstick, I don’t think my dry lips agrees with the formula. I am planning to try lipstick from other formula.
The colors are surprisingly wearable. Pigmentation is perfect too.

Sleek Wonderlast Lipgloss in Purity

Guess who had a twin sister?

Don’t you agree Sleek Wonderlast totally look like dupe of Make Up For Ever Aqua Rouge? The moment I saw it, I know I have to try it!

The lipcolor formula is more liquid than MUFE’s but still creamy. Very easy to manage and spread. The lipcolor has light vanilla fragrance; no taste was detected when I wore this. Just like its twin sister, the lipcolor is super opaque in single swipe. On me, it feels like this baby requires longer time to set properly compared to MUFE’s. It dries down matte and even. Purity is creamy, almost nude-warm pink in color.

After it sets, I applied the supplied gloss. Unlike the lipcolor, the gloss is tasteless and fragranceless. The gloss is light and non sticky. I am loving it.

But… Gotta say I don’t fancy the brush that comes with it. I will prefer sponge applicator like the lipcolor’s. The brush is stiff and basically not helpful.

This baby is rock solid. It doenst budge at all the whole day... it does fade a little along the way, but then again, it was a rosy nude lip color, which look really similar to my original lip color- therefore i wont notice it as much when it does fade out. The gloss on the other hand, just slip off very easily. May be an hour or two.

Bottomline,
good one if you like rosy nude color. the formula is nice and it does stay all day. I am definitely going to try more colors from this line.

The Body Shop Pure natural Lip Roll On in Rose

I cant say no when I see ‘rose’…

This flavored roll on balm is supposed to moisturize and leave lips soft with no tacky waxy feel. Of course, made with 100% natural ingredients.
Here’s the list…rinicus communis seed oil, glycine soja oil, lanolin, helianthus annuus seed oil, olea eurupeaea fruit oil, aroma, helianthus annuus seed waz, aqua, tocopherol, persea gratissima oil, prunis amydalus dulcis oil, sammondsia chinensis seed oil, stevia rebaudiana leaf/stem extract, linalool, citronellol, geraniol, citral, limonene, citric acid.

Basically: castor oil, sunflower wax and oil, avocado oil, olive oil, almond oil amongst others. I don’t fancy castor oil feeling on my lips… had I known there’s castor oil in there, I don’t think I will purchase this.

Packaged in plastic tube with roll on top, this is practical. Yet, I have bad experiences with roll on stuff… so I am kinda worried to have this in my bag.

The product itself is textured like light lip gloss. It goes on clear and makes my lips look glossy. Is it moisturizing? Not moisturizing enough for me. I still prefer my traditional lip balm…

Bottomline…
I wont repurchase, give me my regular lip balm please…
