Maybelline blushstudio Jelly Glow in 02 Fresh Pink

Can't deny it, my latest addition is blushes... I find myself purchasing different textured blushes lately...including this fun, pretty, cute jelly glow blush from maybelline.

It is housed in domed plastic palette, which reminds me of baked blushes. but the texture of this baby is not hard as the baked cousin.... it is springy and soft and totally fun to use!

pigmentation wise, Jelly Glow is rather sheer rosy pink- no matte no frosty no pearly here. just healthy pink glow. Building up color is easy peasy with this one.

Honestly, I have no complaint here... reasonably priced, fun product.

Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine Free Blush in Fresh Coral

I don’t usually adore American drug store blushes for one reason – most of them are not pigmented enough to make me happy. I love my MAC and Canmake (Japanese drugstore brand) blushes – those two brands are my go to blush. Lucky me, this time, I found nice drugstore blush!
Maybelline Clear Smooth blush range is one pigmented line! Yes, the packaging looks cheap and flimsy (and does feel cheap and flimsy) – but don’t judge the make up by its packaging! I swatched all 4 shades: Rose, Coral, Berry and Apricot in my local drugstore… all of them are crazy pigmented. Totally worth my money! Too bad – some , like Berry and Apricot is too pigmented for my daily use, I only picked Coral. Rose is the lightest of them all, but I already got too many dupes in my stash, hence I left it alone.
The blush is light and blend easily, just remember, apply carefully – pick little product and build the color if necessary. I just love the rich pigment… and it only cost me about IDR 40,000 (approx. USD 5) a pop. Totally worth it.
The only thing that left me puzzled is the ‘shine free’ statement. It is powder blush and works like powder blush; I didn’t experience any additional oil control benefit at all.  may be the ‘shine’ refer to glitter or shimmer? I don’t know…
Bottomline :
‘shine free’ puzzle aside, this has been a value-for-money purchase for meUnfortunately I think Clear Smooth line is not available in all countries.

Maybelline Pure BB Mineral Instant Skin Smoother – BB Mousse SPF 30, PA +++

I usually never notice mousse anything, until my bestie keep on telling me how fabulous Shu Uemura Mousse foundation is. I’m not entirely sold, and not willing to shell out so much money for foundation I rarely use.
So, when I saw similar concept from Maybelline (cheaper too!), I was eager to try. An extension to the Mineral line from Maybelline, this one claims to be as effective as BB cream, but with fun mousse texture! I think this one came in 2 shades. Comes with SPF and PA protection too. Sounds good!
It took me a while to master dispensing technique of this one, mainly because I am not used with mousse products.  The nozzle dispenses unscented fluffy, light, soft mousse – that’s easy to spread and blends nicely with my skin tone. my skin is fairly non problematic  (except for annoyingly oily T zone), so I cant really see the difference in smoothness this product offers. However, it really does give my skin fresh, light yet matte finish. I love how my skin feels and look after fresh application of this one.  Coverage BB Mousse offers is light-medium, doesn’t really cover blemishes, but it does make my skin look more even toned.
Even though it starts off with matte finish, my skin does get oily as usual. I need to blot after about 2 hours, that’s quite normal for me (same with when I only apply my moisturizer and sunblock).
Bottomline…
This one is fun addition to my collection of foundations. Pleasant to wear, but not a must.
I got mine from Sasa Taiwan. This product is not available in all Asian countries.
